Background

The Healthy Sense Mobile App empowers users to effectively manage chronic health conditions, enabling them to regain control of their lives without being overly constrained by their condition. By offering a range of user-friendly features, the app assists individuals in taking charge of their health journey.

My Role

I was directly responsible for the research, ideation, development of the brand and implementation of designs up until production and testing in the market, while working in an agile environment.

User Persona

Using research findings, I developed a persona in collaboration with the product team, representing the ideal user of Healthy Sense. This persona encapsulates their pain points, such as dealing with sickness and fatigue daily, along with the challenges of limited access to quality healthcare. Moreover, the research provided valuable insights into user aspirations, encompassing desires for increased physical activity, engagement in enjoyable hobbies, dietary improvements, regular exercise, understanding the root cause of their chronic condition, and accessing proper medical treatment, social programs, and mental health care. These profound revelations strengthened my capacity to empathize with the end user throughout the entire design process.

Storyboard Sketch

A storyboard sketch was employed to visualize a user experiencing an asthma attack and how the mobile app successfully intervened by providing a panic button to call 911, thus preventing the severity of the attack.

Feature Requirements

In the context of building an MVP, I collaborated with the product manager and the stakeholders on ideating a set of essential features for the app, tailored to the ideal user. Working closely with the product manager, I transformed the findings into actionable insights, gaining buy-in from stakeholders and the entire team. Key features include:

1. Personalized Health Profile

2. Medication Management

3. Health Journal

4.Personalized Lifestyle Recommendations

5. Community Support

6. Telemedicine Integration

7. Health Education Resources

8. Mental Health Support

User Flow

By putting myself in the user's shoes, the journey was visualized and a seamless flow was designed for interacting with the interface. The process begins by signing in and connecting to Apple Health, allowing the app to access comprehensive data for optimal efficiency. Following a smooth setup in the settings, users can effortlessly schedule appointments, enhancing their overall experience.

Mid-Fidelity Wireframes

After defining the primary user task and flow, the initial set of Mid-fi wireframes was developed for early testing. This enabled gathering valuable feedback and making necessary improvements before moving on to high-fidelity wireframes, ultimately saving time in the later stages of the process.

Seamless Onboarding And Simple Home Screen

With the latest updates, users can effortlessly sign up and accomplish crucial tasks, including syncing with Apple health. Additionally, users have quick access to the panic, plan, and journey features directly from the home screen.

Appointment Planner

The appointment planner facilitates seamless connections between users and available doctors, enabling them to easily book appointments with healthcare professionals of their choice.

One Panic Away

In case of emergency, users can contact emergency services immediately by connecting directly to 911.

Journey

The feature provides an overview of their current health status through vitals.

Medication Reminders, Monitoring Symptoms And Air Quality

Some other interesting features include the medication reminders which effectively prompt patients to take their prescribed medication at the right dosage. "My Symptoms" feature offers users a comprehensive summary of potential illnesses based on their symptoms. Air quality and allergen notifications are vital tools that assist patients with asthma in staying vigilant and proactive about potential triggers.

How The Testing Changed The Design

Following the feedback from usability tests, my team prioritized adding a time section to enhance overall usability and user experience, enabling users to set specific appointment times.
